IV The Emperor

This week’s Tarot-Draw is The Emperor.

It’s funny that this card featured prominently in a reading I was doing for someone yesterday.

I started off as I usually do describing what I’ve deemed the quintessential Capricorn and all of our negative stereotypes.

There I was laying out all of the foibles of a being a king in a foreign land and then it occurred to me…

There’s a part in some of us just looking to turn the reigns over to someone competent. Someone we can give our hearts, troubles and trust to - just for a blessed moment of peace - and not have to worry about being in charge and making everything happen.

I know I can be a control freak and that forced optimization weighs me down time and again…

But the real danger lies in thinking that you need this person to be complete. We postpone our happiness and our self-given permission to be happy waiting on the arrival of someone.
