V The Hierophant

This week’s Tarot-Draw is the fifth Major Arcana card - The Hierophant.

Though not traditionally presented as a larger than life sized statue, I like that the drawing gives off those vibes.

Praise be to idiosyncrasies!

“Step forward, larger than life...” Is my favourite line from one of my old favourite movies - To Wong Foo, Thanks for Everything! Julie Newmar.

This card is serving Major Drag Queen Vibes.

The illusion is everything.

As well as Internet vibes.

What are they hiding? Or, rather, what’s been edited out?

In putting our best foot forward for our internet besties we’ve forgotten that IRL (in real life) life doesn’t have a filter and you can’t unsend things you’ve said.

Back to pageantry, popes, and peculiarities.

Sometimes a costume change goes a long-long way.

When’s the last time you played dress up?

Sure, we’ve all gotten ready and dolled up, but usually it’s for appearance’s sake and making a good impression.

Why not do it just to change your thought patterns?

I do not mean try on things that don’t fit and kick yourself into a downward spiral. (Talking to myself mostly there…)

I mean reimagine yourself and the image you project.

Who doesn’t love a cute accessory?

Especially when it’s been Charged up by your intent…

Witch accessorize thyself.

During the pandemic I have heard of dressing up to work from home or for a date night in.

That implies that our culture understands clothing changes how we feel about ourselves.

Maybe that’s why Halloween is so popular.

You get to dress up however you want and be something you don’t already perceive yourself as.

Are you putting on accoutrement to thrive or masks to survive?

This week in Psychic Sleep we’ll touch on themes of: magickal jewelry; persona; and keys to elsewhere.
