King of Pentacles

This week’s Tarot-Draw is the King of Pentacles.

Today I heard the phrase “I don’t want to die on the vine…” and I thought “How Dionysian.”

As I was recalling drawing each of the grape bunches on the fabric of these kingly robes - again I thought of Dionysus.

This time of how he submits to being ripped apart yearly and feasted upon by the hands and mouths of those at the bacchanal.

Speaking of rebirth/ reinvention/ redo… think about the rags to riches trope that we all adore.

Or, the myth that being good means only good things will come to you.

Some people are just good at taking care of plants.

Some are good at taking care of money.

Some won’t buy pets because they can’t keep plants alive.

The same plant that seems to flourish for one person withers and dies for another.

All of the bovine energy from the depicted throne screams Taurus energy.

When’s the last time you let yourself indulge in an activity?

When you hear the word luxuriate what images come to mind?

Do you feel like you have to earn the right to relax?

At what point are you going to stop and let yourself appreciate the process?

Like the hard work, the amount of effort, all of the ups and downs, struggles, and moments of brilliance that it took to get you to this moment..

This week in Psychic Sleep we’ll touch on themes of: satisfaction; indulgence; and perspectives.
