8 of Pentacles
This week’s Tarot-Draw is the Eight of Pentacles.
Spending time on the details or honing one’s craft.
Both take time, energy, and effort.
When you hear “Honing one’s craft” why is it so easy yo think of successful attempt after successful attempt?
Anyone who’s ever tried to get better at what they do knows that: better wouldn’t be better unless the ones that came before weren’t somehow not-as-good a.k.a. worse.
But we still forget… and get mad at the Work In Progress while heaping more expectations upon it.
Also, what is it with the urge to point out the flaws in your works before somebody notices them?
Probably in both we’re protecting ourselves by lowering the expectations of others…
Instead of turning down the volume of our inner critic(s).
Don’t lose yourself obsessing over the tiniest of details.
However, with what you can access, don’t ignore the details.
The details, the bigger picture, and the flow in-between.
Zoom out too much to see the bigger picture and you’ll lose sight of helpful details.
Zoom in too much and you’ll find detail that has lost it’s reference to the bigger whole - of which it is a part.
Ignore either and they both suffer.
So perhaps some of the tastiest thinking can come from looking at the flow of balance between your micro and macro perspectives.
Where are you in the biggest picture you can imagine?
What tiny little detail is so important to you that no one else would even know what you’re talking about without some explanation?
What way of doing or being could you imagine up that takes your flow into account?
What self-imposed limitations could you set down? Or shore up?
This week in Psychic Sleep we’ll touch on themes of: micro goals; macro goals; and the flow in-between.
